The Purpose:

The Junior Financial Analyst is an integral component of the Finance Team, assigned to teams within our Client Services Group to provide financial analysis and guidance to support key decisions and initiatives. Key responsibilities include estimate forecasting, expense efficiency, accurate and timely billing of customer projects, and profitability analysis. The Junior Financial Analystr is responsible for providing follow-up and resolution on both internal and external customer requests concerning the financial status of a client account. This position is also accountable for contacting clients and collecting outstanding payments, while exhibiting professionalism and maintaining a trustful relationship. The position will be measured by reports on customer satisfaction, WIP, and aging.

The Job:

  • Create and monitor the WIP report (and all other essential financial reports) for all projects assigned to Account Services Group, proactively managing all billing responsibilities
  • Prepare and distribute invoices as defined by company policy and client MSA agreement, meeting billing due dates – including deposit(s), change orders and final invoices
  • Maintain, prepare, and distribute billing reports and supporting documentation to Client Services Group throughout the project, providing detailed analysis of project data, as well as post financial results
  • Maintain precise client records and report on collection activity and accounts receivable status
  • Process appropriate reallocations of project transactions to maintain correct job costing
  • Prepare profitability analysis to review with the Client Services Group and the Finance Team
  • Interact with Account Director/Account Manager/Project Manager to develop clear understanding of project scope, WIP and change order management and impact on final reconciliation and profitability.

The Person:

  • 3 years of professional experience in finance and/or accounting
  • BA/BS degree preferred
  • Experience in working with large, multi-faceted teams in a leadership and/or supporting role.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret complex, often conflicting information, reorganize and distribute to appropriate teams clearly in written and verbal formats.
  • Advanced Excel skills with strength in data aggregation and visualization
  • Enthusiastic about collaborating with people, ability to quickly develop a rapport with internal and external clients.
  • Pro-active initiative-taker, entrepreneurial, and solutions-oriented
  • Adaptable, open-minded, and receptive to feedback and able to adjust in real-time.
  • Collaborative, comfortable presenting and receiving information in a group setting.
